Our Approach
Your body is intelligent, designed to be healthy and stay healthy.
At any stage of life, events and experiences can occur which may negatively affect your body’s ability to adapt, grow, self-correct and express its full health and healing potential. Chiropractors call these patterns of stored experience that get locked in the body “Subluxation Patterns.” These are caused by physical, chemical and/or emotional stresses that your body is unable to adapt to. Subluxations patterns create misalignments of your spinal structure and restrictions to proper movement of your joints and tissues. When we are subluxated, essential pathways for clear communication in the body become compromised and interfered with, often contributing to your experience of symptoms, illness, and dis-ease.
At NorthPoint Chiropractic, your adjustments are designed to locate, bring awareness to, and gently release these stored patterns of tension. Our primary goal in care is to assist your body in clearing any areas of blockage that are interfering with your innate self-healing process and set you on your path towards wholeness, wellness and wellbeing.
What to Expect
Our goal is to help your body self-correct, heal, and return to better function and a greater expression of health. During your adjustment, you will notice different kinds of touch: sometimes lighter and more energetic, sometimes deeper and more muscular, and some more “structural” in nature, corresponding to the different types of tissues in your body that could be involved with any symptoms you may be experiencing. It is also worth mentioning that the injuries, traumas and life experiences that store as tension and misalignment in your body (chiropractors call them “subluxation patterns”) can be physical, emotional or chemical in nature.
Consequently, sometimes your body may want to move, breathe deeper, stretch or simply relax areas of tension during your adjustment.
In addition to feeling physical changes, you may also become aware of stored emotions, toxins or memories coming up to the surface for processing. All of these are normal and healthy effects of your adjustment. You can support the healing process by drinking extra water to flush your system out, eating well and getting enough rest following your session. Gentle stretching or movement exercises may be recommended to reinforce the changes initiated by the adjustment, and suggestions for improving your posture and ergonomics may be given.
“As an exercise and movement professional, I've recommended Dr. Eric to many of my clients. And I bring everyone in my family to see him as well. Your body will thank you many times over for taking the time to visit Northpoint Chiropractic.”
